Good Friday Service

Friday 29th March 2024 at 10:30am

This is the day of the year that we especially remember and think about the death of the Lord Jesus Christ upon a cross.

It says in the Bible that 'Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures' (1 Corinthians 15:3) and that this is part of the message of the gospel. Gospel means 'good news' but it seems odd to think of the death of Jesus, a good man, as good news and strange to call the day of his death Good Friday. The good news of Good Friday lies in the reason for the death of Jesus - 'for our sins'. He died to pay the price or penalty that our sin deserves so that we may find forgiveness from God and be saved. Christians are people who know and believe that 'by this gospel you are saved' (1 Corinthians 15:2).

We warmly invite you to join us to hear more of this message - which does not end in death but in life.
